Embryo Donor Spotlight: S&S

Our group of amazing EM•POWERED donors continues to grow! We now have over 15 embryo donors looking for the right recipient(s) to match with. Here is a snapshot of one of our lovely donors, S&S, who live in Vermont, love to spend time outdoors, and have two remaining embryos they are donating.

Tell us about yourself and your family, and your decision to donate your remaining embryos.

We conceived our son via IVF. Now that he’s almost five, we feel confident that our family is complete. Deciding what to do with our remaining two embryos has been difficult, but we feel so fortunate to have had success with IVF and would love to be part of hopefully helping another individual or couple create their family.

What are you hoping for in a recipient(s), and what kind of relationship would you like to have between your family and your recipient family?

We’re looking for a loving home – whether that’s a couple or a single person – with progressive values, a love of learning, and the desire to make a positive difference in the world. We would love to have an open relationship with the recipient family especially for our son, but we’re open to exploring how this can work best. We know that this is complex and emotional, and more than anything are looking for a recipient family who is able to navigate this together with us.

What are you most excited about being an embryo donor?

We hope that being an embryo donor means that a couple or person has the opportunity to build the family they want. We also love the idea of our son being able to have a relationship with another child/children, especially because he’s an only child.
